Ahhhh.......... Had been no watched SG drama for a long time. I miss SG drama!! If I not wrong I think the last SG drama that I watched was "Don't Stop Believin'"（我们等你）. Now I heard some nice SG dramas from my friend and I decided to watch them~

Here are the dramas that I gonna watch:

Poetic Justice《微笑正义》

It consists of 20 episodes and starred by Rui En, Dai Yang Tian, Rebecca Lim and Desmond Tan.

The plot revolves around a group of young professionals involved in investigative journalism. Two journalists team up with a wealthy businessman and a lawyer to help solve cases for those in need. As they investigate further, they uncover more secrets and dark truths behind some of the crimes.

 

Show Hand 《注定》

Consists of 13 episodes and starred by Christopher Lee, Chew Chor Meng, Cynthis Koh, Ann Kok, Ian Fang and Kimberly Chia.

Zhang Qi Ming and Lai Jian Xing are compulsive gambling buddies who met as actors in a television program. They borrow from loan sharks and end up getting harassed frequently.

Wu Mei Fang, Qi Ming's wife, has been through tough times to save Qi Ming from harassing loan sharks. Qi Ming sets his mind to quit gambling when Mei Feng chops her finger off to repay his debt.

Qi Ming finds Jian Xing at an underground gambling den to persuade him in quitting the addiction together. Alas! They are caught in a raid and both are sentenced to jail.

Six years on, Qi Ming gets early release for good behavior. He plans to start afresh while Jian Xing hopes to make a comeback in the gambling scene.

Jian Xing is unable to curb his addiction and insists that gambling is the only way to provide for his wife. A fortune-teller tells him that he is fated to be a rich man one day prompting him to seek riches through shortcuts. He falls into greater addiction.

Shu Min, Jian Xing's wife, is a counseller and a police volunteer. Besides counseling gamblers, she hopes to get all loan sharks locked up and away from harming people. She firmly believes that if a hardcore gambler like her husband can quit the obsession, other gamblers can do likewise. Unknown to her, Jian Xing has been deceiving her all these while.

Having locked away for a long time, Qi Ming hopes to spend more time with his family and make up for lost time. However, many things have changed and his daughter refuses to acknowledge him. Even so, Qi Ming is not discouraged.

Just when Qi Ming is determined stop after his last bet, he wins all that he stakes on and is tempted to make the next gamble.

He learns that his son has become a loan shark runner after chocking up heavy debts through soccer bets, his daughter cons others to indulge in luxury goods, his mother cannot peel herself away from a jackpot machine and his wife becomes a hard-core gambler.

Can Qi Ming save his family from the evil lures of gambling? How long can Jian Xing last before his wife finds out? Who will win this game of life?

Consists of 34 episodes. It was a comedy family drama. This is a story about heartlanders in Singapore. There are people you and I are familiar with, topics you and I are concerned with, stories that you and I can identify with, and feelings that you and I can share with. Based on true life accounts close to our hearts, it is truly a Singaporean story.

In a block of 4-room flats at a particular housing estate, the two families of Hao Youcai and Niu Wuyin live opposite each other. As business rivals, sparks occasionally fly between them. Youcai's name may mean "wealthy", but he often has no luck with money. On the other hand, the overbearing Wuyin or "penniless" does not only enjoy a thriving business but he has the Midas touch as well. He is certainly loaded with "pounds".

An honest and kind man, Youcai does not have the gift of the gab but is tolerant as far as possible. However, his wife Luona has a vicious tongue that spares nobody for no rhyme or reason. On top of that, she covets wealth and power, despising her low-earning husband. She is tyrannical and harsh towards her 70-year-old mother-in-law. Wuyin's septuagenarian father, however, has a "blessed" life. His son and daughter-in-law treasure him. When he moans about his aching body, a massage chair worth a few thousand dollars is delivered immediately to the house. Youcai's mother can only drool in envy. Wuyin has a way with people and he is eloquent. He remains "refined" even in a quarrel, diffusing any tense situation with a soft touch. Money is his life, and he can never earn enough. He is ever ready to perform good deeds, but not when they demand his money. Hardworking and frugal, his wife Xiuhua is not one to complain.

Both families sell "handmade fishball noodles" at their stalls in a food centre. "Niuji" stall enjoys brisk business while "Haoji" stall suffers from poor business.

The sight of the other party decked in jewellery while she is pathetically bare in that aspect makes Luona moan all day to the extent that she pinches her mother-in-law out of spite. Unfortunately, the "act of violence" is captured on camera by her son and uploaded to Youtube. It even hits the headlines. In no time, people are demanding that she be punished and going on a hunt to ferret out this wicked woman. Youcai is aware that the culprit is his wife and loses his cool. Instead of being remorseful, Luona flies into a fury. She leaves home with her daughter, threatening to engage a lawyer to initiate divorce proceedings.

Disillusioned, Youcai reaches the point of contemplating suicide but is stopped by his mother. To console her son, she fabricates a story that a deity appeared in her dream to prophesise that his hardship days will soon be over. The deity also bestowed on her a "good luck rice bin" (which is actually a junk she retrieved from the rubbish dump) and promised that the rice bin would always be full and that his life would be free from worry.

Whether it is his filial piety that moves the Heaven or it is simply mere coincidence, Youcai's luck changes for the better the moment his wicked wife leaves home. His fishballs are favoured by a renowned chef and he is invited to appear on TV. He becomes famous overnight. Customers begin to stream towards his stall. Wuyin's business is badly affected and a series of misfortune befalls him. It appears that the wheel of fortune has turned. With Lady Luck smiling on him, Youcai enters a lucky draw and wins a car. Soon, the story of how the "prosperous rice bin" changes his fortune starts to circulate to the point of becoming a legend. Despite Youcai's mother frantically explaining that it is purely nonsense perpetuated by her, nobody is convinced. Hordes of people flock to the rice bin to "seek fortune and lottery numbers". Luona banishes the thought of divorce upon hearing of it. She wants to return home to be a virtuous wife and a filial daughter-in-law. Wuyin, who is down on his luck, actually plans to steal Youcai's "prosperous rice bin"...

Game Plan《千方百计》

Consists of 20 episodes.

On Xintong's wedding day, her groom, Adam, was nowhere to be seen. When she returned home, she was surrounded by her debtors. Xintong realized that she has fallen into a trap set by Adam, a love cheat. Not only was she cheated of her life savings; she now has a huge debt to repay. In the darkest moments of her life, a shining light of hope appeared. She was told that a swindler was about to be released from jail. With his help, there may be hope for Xintong.

As Haoren stepped out of the prison gates, Xintong approached him and made her intentions clear. She gave him all the money she had. Haoren wanted her to wait for him. As the sun set and rose again, Xintong realized that she had been tricked again. Her body could not hold out and she fainted.

When she awoke, she found herself in an unknown place. Haoren wants her to follow his instructions without question. Under the meticulous planning of Haoren's team, Xintong managed to get her money back and expose Adam of his evil deeds.

Haoren continued to help Xintong solve a few more cases, in the process helping Junwei, a police officer, bust a few crime syndicates. Haoren chose to remain low-profile, pushing the credit to Xintong and Junwei. Xintong was curious of Haoren's background but he chose to keep it secret.

Xintong began to develop feelings for Haoren. After much internal struggle, she mustered up her courage to tell him but was rejected. She learnt from the others that he still deeply loves his ex-girlfriend. She started to avoid him but Moyan had other ideas.

Since young, Moyan and Haoren have been good friends, but little did Haoren know that Moyan has long been carrying a torch for him. She sent her men to keep a watch on Haoren and disguised herself to get close to Xintong, all to earn her trust and spoil their relationship.

Haoren looked her up and Moyan hoped that he would return to her. When Haoren rejected, she reminded him that the first rule to being a swindler is to not let emotions be involved; Xintong will cause his demise.

Haoren and Moyan engaged in a battle of wits. As her men were no fight for him, she decided to take matters into her own hands. Haoren was no match for her. Moyan used Xintong to threaten him and forced him to jump off a building to put an end to their feud.

Did Haoren really die? Or was it just another part of his ploy? Can Haoren overcome his inner demons and accept Xintong's love? Will Junwei ever forgive his brother?

 

Rescue 995

Consists of 20 episodes and it's a medical drama. Cast: Jeanette Aw, Tay Ping Hui, Pierre Png, Yvonne Lim, Ng Hui

Some people say that the ambulance paramedic's job is the toughest in having to deal with accident victims or critically ill patients. Paramedics do not draw attention to themselves but carry out their work in quiet efficiency, always at the frontline of life-saving work to re-ignite the light of life for those on the brink of death. The serial explores the lives of several paramedics on the home front and in the work place as they go about their jobs.

In the course of saving a pregnant woman and a young man suffering from head injuries, Shi Haoran (Jeanette Aw) and Xu Wenqian (Yvonne Lim) realised that it is their first day of work with the ambulance team. Haoran's father Shi Xinguo (Zhu HouRen) is a cardiac specialist who wants his daughter to study medicine. Their relationship is strained when she chooses to be a paramedic instead. Caught in the crossfire is Zhong Lingfeng (Hong Hui Fang), Haoran's mother and a TCM practitioner. Haoran does not desire acknowledgements or accolades from her achievements but rejoices over the lives she saves. Armed with a wealth of knowledge in both Western and traditional Chinese medicine, she inevitably oversteps the boundary of a paramedic...

 

Justice In The City(庭外和解)

Consists of 30 episodes and starred by Shaun Chen, Chris Tong and Soo Wincci

The series opens with a case which sees an old couple who have been married for over fifty years, file for divorce. The wife, Chen Jin Ying, is determined on divorcing her husband, Liu Fa Zhi, despite her children’s objections. When her son, Liu Guo Dong realises that his mother is divorcing his father because she wanted to be with her ex-lover (an old man suffering from dementia), decides to hire Hui Qi and her boss, Luo You Wei, to prevent her from obtaining her rightful share of the family fortune. When Jian Zhi came to know about Jin Ying’s predicament, he decides to help her.

Meanwhile, Hui Qi’s rough background is revealed in the next case where she stands up for Gao Yong Wen, a crippled beggar who had been injured at his previous workplace, a factory. Much to Yong Wen’s dismay, his company only compensated him with a small sum of money before firing him. Hui Qi is determined to help Yong Wen in his court case because he has previously supported her studies. It was through his financial support that she could afford to fulfill her ambition and graduate from law school.

When Hui Qi investigates the factory where Yong Wen’s injury took place, she finds out that it belonged to Guo Dong and decides to pursue adequate compensation for Yong Wen. Guo Dong is left with no choice but to hire Jian Zhi to fight against Hui Qi. In the midst of Jian Zhi’s investigations, he discovers a shocking secret where Yong Wen had caused the death of Hui Qi’s mother by stealing her money meant for her daughter’s education and driving her to commit suicide.

At the end of the case, Hui Qi and Jian Zhi gradually drew closer, but their love could not blossom when Jian Zhi’s ex-girlfriend, He Yue Er, makes a return to his life. Yue Er pleads for Jian Zhi’s sympathy, claiming that she has been living with fear due to her husband, Luo Dong Hai’s abusive behaviour. As Jian Zhi spends more time with Yue Er to help her regain confidence, his relationship with Hui Qi soured. Disappointed and crushed, Hui Qi decides to accept her boss, You Wei, who has been pursuing her, despite being married to Lin Qian Yi, who is suffering from mental illness. Qian Yi is a good and faithful wife who stood by her husband through thick and thin. She even lost her dignity as a woman to fund You Wei’s studies only to be repaid with ungratefulness, which caused her to have a mental breakdown.

Later, Hui Qi finds out that Yue Er and her husband were only pretending to divorce in order to divide their assets to amass their fortune. Just when Hui Qi had found out the truth, news on Dong Hai’s death surfaced and Hui Qi becomes the greatest suspect. When Jian Zhi decides to help Hui Qi, Yue Er ties to emotionally manipulates him to drop the case, which then arouses his suspicions and drove him to become even more determined to seek justice for Hui Qi.

Wow...... Seems I gonna spend many time on watching these drama!! Ohoo...... Nooooo~~~ I need some movie...!
